Alumni are invited to share suggestions or questions with the Board of Directors regarding the Association at alumni@csulb.edu or by calling
(562) 985-5252.

Following the graduation of the first class from what was then Long Beach State College, an Alumni Association was formed in the fall of 1951. The CSULB Alumni Association was created to assist and advance the alumni in the pursuit of excellence, continue the friendships formed in the university, build strong and mutually beneficial ties between the university and its diverse alumni, promote goodwill in the community and create a dynamic alumni program that will stimulate interest, build loyalty, increase involvement and generate support for the university.
The board of directors is comprised of 23 appointed voting members. Terms are one year and three years and begin in May. Seven of the directors serve as the officers of the board who meet monthly. These officers are: President, President-elect, Immediate Past President, Vice President of Programs, Vice President of Chapters, Secretary, and Treasurer. They are elected annually by the board.
The Alumni Association is supported by professional staff who are employees of the University. The staff serves as the University liaison for the Association to execute its policies and programs, and advises directors on how to work best with the University for the mutual benefit of all. The Alumni Relations Office is located in the University Student Union, suite 112.
More than 33,000 alumni are members of the Alumni Association. Graduates and credential recipients pay a one-time $49.00 fee for a lifetime of benefits. These benefits include access to all CSU libraries, discounts for non-credit courses through University College and Extension Services, alumni publications,, an opportunity to purchase membership in the LBS Federal Credit Union, health insurance, and many more.
