The AVP for Research and External Support is responsible for fostering partnerships among industry, government, and academia that support the discovery and invention activities of CSULB faculty and students.

In collaboration with faculty, academic leaders and staff, the AVP for Research and External Support works to enhance the CSULB infrastructure supporting scholarly and creative activity.  The AVP for Research and External Support oversees the internal research award programs including the summer undergraduate and graduate research programs that provide direct support to students for faculty-mentored research and creative activity.  The AVP’s responsibilities also include oversight of sponsored research pre-award processing and programs for research compliance and research integrity.
